Programme Structure
Our BDS programme spans over five years, structured to create futuristic dentists equipped with both basic and advanced knowledge in the dental field.
The curriculum is divided into two phases:
- Early Clinical Phase: Years 1 & 2
- Clinical Phase: Years 3, 4 & 5
Early Clinical Phase:
Years 1 and 2 of the programme constitute the early clinical phase. During this phase, students focus on Basic Medical Science courses, which are integrated, and system based. These courses include Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, and Pharmacology. Additionally, students engage in Dental Courses covering both Basic and Clinical Dental courses, laying the foundation for their future clinical practice.

Clinical Phase:
Years 3, 4, and 5 mark the clinical phase of the programme. In this phase, students delve deeper into clinical practice, honing their skills and knowledge through hands-on experience and real-life patient interactions. - Applicants shall be required to pass an aptitude test and/or an interview and/or a university entrance examination.
- Malaysian citizen seeking employment in the public sector must fulfil the criteria set by the Public Services Commission of Malaysia (SPA).
- A person with any of the following shall be disqualified from entry into a dental programme:
- found guilty of offence(s) affecting the human body;
- recent or serious dishonesty e.g., cheating at examinations, falsification of documents, plagiarism;
- serious physical or mental disorder;
- serious communicable disease(s)
HEALTH ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Prior to admission, all short-listed applicants are required to undergo a medical checkup to ensure they are free from communicable diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis; and to undergo immunisation against Hepatitis B.
