Programme Overview
Established in Malaysia’s northern state of Kedah Darul Aman, the Faculty of Medicine at AIMST University is a campus-based private sector institution. The MBBS program offered by AIMST University is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), ensuring that it meets stringent standards of quality and excellence.
In addition to its undergraduate MBBS program, the Faculty of Medicine at AIMST University also offers Bachelors in Biomedical sciences and postgraduate programs at the master’s and PhD levels

Programme Structure
The MBBS programme is an outcome based integrated curriculum across five years. The curriculum is divided into two phases preclerkship phase (year 1 & 2) and the clerkship phase ( year 3,4 & 5).
The Preclerkship phase is of two years at the AIMST University campus .This phase lays the foundation for the clinical programme by ensuring a comprehensive teaching learning and assessment of the organ systems .This phase also exposes the student to the community and patients early in their education and ensures adequate development of ethics, professionalism and empathy which are essential components of a future doctor. Clerkship phase
The clerkship phase consists of three years divided into the junior and senior clerkship years. The clerkship phase consist of training at the government hospitals .Year 3 & 4 has clinical sessions at the hospitals everyday with small group theory sessions in the campus . The year five (senior clerkship) is completely at the Hospital Sultana Bahiya .The students learn by shadowing the housemen and observing the process and procedures in the wards along with clerking patients, in readiness for becoming a houseman.
