The Master in Science in Human Anatomy programme in AIMST University provides solid foundation in human anatomy as a basis for teaching, as well as basic and applied research. It considers all aspects of human anatomy and incorporates local requirements as stipulated by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.

This programme has been developed to provide postgraduate training in human anatomy and is intended for students graduating from life sciences and related disciplines who wish to extend their knowledge of anatomy and / or who wish to pursue a career in the anatomical sciences.

Programme Structure

2 Years – Full Time, Mixed Mode

Semester based 2 years full time Mixed mode course on campus Human Anatomy (a composite of the following subjects with lab components) Compulsory & elective modules : General anatomy, musculoskeletal anatomy, regional neurovascular anatomy, cardiovascular anatomy and respiratory anatomy, Gastrointestinal anatomy, renal anatomy, neuroanatomy, endocrine & reproductive anatomy and clinical anatomy, Anatomical techniques, human genetics. Elective modules – Forensic anatomy, Medical imaging, Comparative anatomy and radiological anatomy. Research Methods, Biostatistics & Ethics, Research Project, Teaching Assistantship. Mode of delivery (lecture/tutorial/lab/field work/ studio etc.) : A combination of teaching-learning methods including student seminars, lecturers, tutorials, laboratory practical, assignments and student initiated learning, elective modules, journal club presentation and research project


Minimum Entry Requirements

QUALIFICATION  ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS 
Master Degree by Mixed Mode as of Programme Standards Medical and Health Science:
  1. A bachelor degree or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.75 in related field, as accepted by the HEP Senate; or
  2. A bachelor degree or equivalent with CGPA of between 2.50 and 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
  3. A bachelor degree or equivalent with CGPA of less than 2.50 in related field and a minimum of 5 years working experience in the related field
Master’s by Mixed Mode as of Standards for Master’s and Doctoral Degree:
  1. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate; or
  2. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
  3. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment. iv. Candidates without a related qualification in the field/s or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (iii).
