AIMST UNIVERSITY’S BIOTECHNOLOGY STUDENTS’ ENRICHING EXPERIENCE AT SRI LOVELY ORGANIC FARM

On 11 May 2024, AIMST University’s Year 1 and Year 2 Biotechnology students participated in an enriching event titled “Fields of Plenty: A Harvesting Project at Sri Lovely Organic Farm.” Held at the SRI Lovely Organic Farm Paddy Field, the event gathered 30 enthusiastic participants. The objectives of this immersive experience included educating students on the agricultural processes involved in rice cultivation, exploring the intricate ecosystem dynamics of paddy fields, and providing an opportunity for cultural immersion and exchange.
Additionally, the event aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and the significance of sustainable agriculture. Students gained a deeper appreciation for the value of food and developed essential skills such as teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving, and leadership. This initiative not only enhanced their academic knowledge but also fostered a sense of community and connection among the participants.
The participants extended heartfelt thanks to the School of General and Foundation Studies (SGFS) lecturers for making this event possible. Their dedication, guidance, and support were instrumental in the success of this project.
