AIMST UNIVERSITY AND MULTICARE HEALTH PHARMACY SDN BHD SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between AIMST University and Multicare Health Pharmacy Sdn Bhd (MHP) was held on 17 April 2024. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in fostering collaboration between both organisations, and it signifies our shared commitment to promoting cooperation in various areas aimed at benefiting our students and advancing our respective fields. During the ceremony, Professor Dr. Kathiresan V. Sathasivam, Vice-Chancellor & Chief Executive of AIMST University, and Mr. Ricky Lim Li Qi, General Manager of MHP, formally inked the MOU, signifying the commencement of our partnership. The event was witnessed by Dr. Kiran Reddy, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic & International Affairs and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Associate Professor Dr. G. Prabhakaran, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research & Industry Linkages, Senior Associate Professor Dr. Sundram Karuppiah, the Registrar, Professor Dr. Nahlah Elkudssiah Ismail, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as representatives from MHP, Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Business Development Division of AIMST University. The MOU outlines various collaborative initiatives, including providing financial support for deserving students, internships, career fairs, job shadowing, company visits, guest lectures, alumni networking, research partnerships, and part-time job opportunities for students in their third and fourth years of pharmacy studies. We are excited about the opportunities that this partnership will bring and are eager to embark on collaborative projects that will benefit both parties and contribute to the advancement of our shared goals. VIBRANT CELEBRATION: HIGHLIGHTS FROM AIMST UNIVERSITY’S TAMIL VIZHA 2024

On 18th March 2024, the Indian Cultural Society (ICS) of AIMST University orchestrated a memorable Tamil Vizha celebration at the foyer of AIMST Administrative Building. This event proved to be a dazzling amalgamation of culture, tradition, and boundless enthusiasm. The Tamil Vizha festivities showcased a diverse range of thrilling competitions, including the Ponggal Making Competition, the intricate Thoranam Pinnuthal, the lively Uri Adithal, the creative Ponggal Pot Decoration, the mesmerising Kolam Competition, and the engaging Mr & Mrs Cultural Competition. Attendees were treated to captivating performances by exceptionally talented students and fascinating displays of classical and folk dances by external artists. The palpable energy and unwavering passion exhibited by all participants truly rendered the evening unforgettable. The ICS team was elated to host approximately 400 students, who congregated to honour and celebrate the rich tapestry of Tamil heritage and traditions. EMPOWERING FUTURE NURSES-COLLABORATION WITH PRINCE OF SONGKLA UNIVERSITY IN RENAL REPLACEMENT THERAPY

On 13 March 2024, we warmly welcomed the esteemed delegation from Prince of Songkla University (PSU) Thailand. In attendance at this event were Professor Dr. Yu Chye Wah, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Professions, Deputy Dean Ms. Veni Chandrakasan, Ms. Wong Lai Kun, the Programme Coordinator for Post Basic Renal Nursing, and Ms. Komala, the Clinical Instructor. Madam Bunyawee Peang Rung Roge, Head of Department, Kidney Therapy Centre of the Songklanagarind Hospital, headed the delegates from the Prince of Songkla University. The partnership between the Kidney Therapy Center at Songklanagarind Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine at Prince of Songkla University has created the Nurse Practitioner Program in Renal Replacement Therapy. This unique opportunity promises to provide invaluable international practical experiences for our student nurses. This privilege will enrich their education and prepare them for the challenges of the healthcare landscape. The visit serves as an opportunity for approximately 50 student nurses and 8 preceptors to gain insights and hands-on experiences in critical areas such as the management of patients with CKD stage 5, treatment selection for patients (CAPD/haemodialysis/kidney transplantation), patients' quality of life improvement, and the management of dialysis patients with abnormal serology. We are confident that through shared experiences and collaborative learning, significant advancements in renal replacement therapy can be achieved, and we are optimistic that this partnership will continue to flourish, benefiting both institutions and ultimately improving patient care in the field of renal therapy.

We were honoured to host a delegation from the Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries (MACS) on 7 March 2024. This occasion heralds the start of a promising collaboration with AIMST University, led by our Faculty of Business and Management. This venture is designed to uncover credit exemption opportunities for our students, paving the way for their future as company secretaries. The partnership with MACS is poised to enrich our student's educational journey, offering them a potential career growth that is both exciting and rewarding. The Vice-Chancellor of AIMST University, Snr. Assoc. Prof. Chm Dr. Kathiresan V.
