AIMST UNIVERSITY’S BIOTECHNOLOGY STUDENTS’ ENRICHING EXPERIENCE AT SRI LOVELY ORGANIC FARM

On 11 May 2024, AIMST University’s Year 1 and Year 2 Biotechnology students participated in an enriching event titled "Fields of Plenty: A Harvesting Project at Sri Lovely Organic Farm." Held at the SRI Lovely Organic Farm Paddy Field, the event gathered 30 enthusiastic participants. The objectives of this immersive experience included educating students on the agricultural processes involved in rice cultivation, exploring the intricate ecosystem dynamics of paddy fields, and providing an opportunity for cultural immersion and exchange. Additionally, the event aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and the significance of sustainable agriculture. Students gained a deeper appreciation for the value of food and developed essential skills such as teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving, and leadership. This initiative not only enhanced their academic knowledge but also fostered a sense of community and connection among the participants. The participants extended heartfelt thanks to the School of General and Foundation Studies (SGFS) lecturers for making this event possible. AIMST UNIVERSITY CLINCHES OVERALL CHAMPION TITLE AT NDIVG 2024

AIMST University has triumphed as the Overall Champion at the National Dental Intervarsity Games (NDIVG) 2024. Our athletes delivered outstanding performances during the tournament, held from 10th to 12th of May 2024, at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). They secured an impressive tally of 7 Gold, 5 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals, along with the Best Female Athlete 2024 award. This victory is a testament to our athletes' exceptional talent and dedication. It also underscores our sporting prowess, resilience, and the power of unity, reminding us that we can achieve greatness beyond our wildest dreams. APRIL’S TRICKSTER DAY – A NIGHT OF LAUGHTER AND COMMUNITY BONDING WITH APSA

On 29th April 2024, the AIMST Physiotherapy Student Association (APSA) had the pleasure of hosting an evening filled with laughter and playful antics at the AIMST Orientation Hall. Physiotherapy students and members of the AIMST community came together to celebrate the spirit of April Fool's Day and strengthen bonds among peers. The event was a success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of everyone involved. From engaging activities to spontaneous pranks, the atmosphere was brimming with energy and excitement throughout the evening. ABA BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS

We are glad to share with you the highlights of our AIMST Basketball Association (ABA) teams' matches in April 2024. The male team engaged in a friendly match against the SP Warriors on April 21st at the SJK (C) Sin Kwang Basketball Court, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the game. Meanwhile, the female team showcased their skills and determination in a friendly match against the Gurun Girl Basketball Team (GGBT) on April 28th at the Gurun Basketball Court. Both matches showcased the hard work and dedication of our players, reflecting positively on the values of ABA.

Reflecting on the recent PHARMSALYMPIC Frisbee competition held on 2nd May 2024, at the AIMST University Sports Complex Field, we extend our gratitude to all who contributed to its success. DR. MERLINDA SHAZELLENNE – A GLOBAL HEALTHCARE LEADER IN ACTION

We are glad to introduce Dr. Merlinda Shazellenne, an alumna of AIMST University, who is making notable contributions in the international healthcare arena as the Medical Education Director of the Junior Doctors Network World Medical Association (JDN WMA international management team). Dr. Merlinda's journey in healthcare leadership began with her exceptional academic achievements, ultimately leading to an MBBS degree from AIMST University in 2013. Her dedication and commitment to excellence were further recognised when she was conferred with the AIMST Tomorrow's Leader Alumni Award in 2022. Over the past decade, she has been a cornerstone of Malaysia's healthcare sector, serving with unwavering passion and expertise with the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) Malaysia. As the State Head of the Occupational Health Section for DOSH Negeri Sembilan, she has played a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of countless individuals and communities. In addition to her role within MOH, Dr. Merlinda is an active life member of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), serving on the MMA committee for Negeri Sembilan, National Health Policy Committee and previously held the position of Chairperson of JDN MMA (Malaysia). Dr. Merlinda's commitment to advancing healthcare transcends borders, and her leadership exemplifies integrity and a steadfast dedication to improving global health outcomes. MIED CHEQUE PRESENTATION CEREMONY 2024

On 26 April 2024, the Maju Institute of Education Development (MIED) marked another significant milestone in nurturing future professionals by awarding scholarships and study loans totalling over RM 15 million to 671 deserving students. Among them, 584 recipients are pursuing degrees in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, business, information technology (IT), and foundation studies at AIMST University. The funds disbursed for AIMST University students, amounting to RM 13.5 million, underscore MIED's commitment to fostering excellence in key sectors vital to Malaysia's growth and development. These scholarships and study loans alleviate the financial burden on students and pave the way for emergence of skilled professionals who will contribute significantly to their respective fields and the nation. Held at Dewan Sri Siantan Perbadanan Putrajaya, the MIED Cheque Presentation Ceremony 2024 was graced by the esteemed presence of YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, who ceremoniously officiated the ceremony. Among the distinguished attendees were YBHG Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. SA. Vigneswaran, President of MIC and MIED Chairman, who is also the Honourable Chancellor of AIMST University. Additionally, the event saw the participant of key figures in the Malaysian Government, including YB Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, Higher Education Minister, YB Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, and YB Datuk Seri M.
